Dialogue In The Dark

Dialogue in the Dark is a social enterprise that supports organizations worldwide with the implementation of Dialogue in the Dark exhibitions. The mission of Dialogue in the Dark is to facilitate social inclusion of marginalized people. Dialogue in the Dark aims to raise awareness and create tolerance for “otherness” in the general public and creating jobs for disadvantaged people by turning deficits into potential. There are many events under Dialogue in the Dark such as Dinner in the Dark and the exhibition, where participants are required to perform a series of activities in total darkness. This serves as a platform for us to better understand the difficulties faced by the blind.

What are they looking for? 
 1) No. of interns:
7 for a month (split into 2 groups) OR 4 for a 2-month period
2) Job Requirements:
Running the facilities on a day-to-day basis and help plan a concert by the blind which is on 11 July 2014. Help for the concert can be provided in terms of managing logistics and stage management.Interns follow a 2 weeks work- 1 week break - 1 week work schedule (monthly)

SACS


 SACS
 Singapore Anglican Community Services (previously known as Singapore Anglican Welfare Council) reaches out to people in need, with the love of our Lord Jesus Christ. We provide refuge and relief for the psychiatrically disabled and people in crises. We aim to be an excellent caring Christian welfare organization effectively accomplishing the total rehabilitation of those under our care.

In our crisis shelter, FCC provides refuge and counseling for families in crises, battered wives, single parents and their children. For the psychiatrically ill and emotionally disturbed, the four mental health centres help clients to regain their confidence through the provision of counseling, spiritual devotion, work therapy, vocational training and job placement.

SACS also organises public seminars and exhibitions to raise public awareness of the problems faced by the psychiatrically disabled and of people who meet crises in their lives. In-house training are provided for staff and volunteers to provide our best support and services to the needy.

Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS) was founded in May 1962. The advocate the causes and interests of people with intellectual disability. To do so, they aim to maximise the development and well-being of persons with intellectual disability through the provision of a comprehensive range of quality services. MINDS has grown to be one of the largest Voluntary Welfare Organisations in Singapore, serving some 2,400 clients from past the age of six to their ripe old age. MINDS’ services include four special schools, three employment development centres, three day training and development centres, and one multi-service residential home. 

What are they looking for?

Proficient in design software, photo-taking, writing and coming up with interesting human-interest stories to angle our pitch.

-Develop and design marketing collaterals for our sheltered workshop/social enterprises.
